We’ve only been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to arrive in the US. The phone is already out in Asia after being spotted in a Thai website. Before that, it was certified by TENAA in China and then passed through the FCC. No more waiting as the new Galaxy Mega 2 is set to arrive in the country through AT&T starting October 24.
The Android smartphone will take advantage of AT&T’s 4G LTE network. Phone comes equipped with an 8 megapixel camera with 4X zoom, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 6-inch multitouch , 2,800mAh removable lithium-ion battery, 1.5GB RAM, microSD card slot, quad core Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor, and NFC.
Key features of the handset include an Ultra Power-Saving Mode that extends battery power, Private Mode that protects personal files, Interruption-Free Experience for uninterrupted movies and browsing on a small pop-up window, and Multi-Instance Mode that allows different windows of the same app to be opened at the same time.
AT&T will be offering the Galaxy Mega 2 under different monthly plans: $23.75 with Next 12 and $19.80 with Next 18, $149 with a 2-year contract. You can also get the phone with no annual commitment for only $479.99.
AT&T is also offering the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 with a $100 bill credit when subscribers activate an existing or new line on the AT&T Next service. With the size of the screen, we can consider this a phablet already—joining the ranks of the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Motorola Nexus 6, ZTE Grand X Max, and the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2.
