cm security applock and antivirus

Reports of phones getting hacked and contents being leaked on the Internet can be quite scary. I don’t agree with taking photos ‘NSFW’ because anyone could see them even if you’re being to careful. You can lock all the photo albums you want but the phone can be stolen, right?

How about your social media apps installed on your tablet or device? You think it’s safe even when you’re with family and friends but you know some people can be nosy, snooping on your accounts, checking what’s on your inbox, etc. That’s why using locks for the app is highly recommended. There are many similar apps available for Android but one of them is the CM Security AppLock & AntiVirus.

Cheetah Mobile, developer of the app, recently released an update to include a new feature of the AppLock — Intruder Selfie. The feature now allows the phone to automatically and discreetly take a photo of someone who entered the wrong password twice. Now you’ll know who’s been snooping on your Facebook and Whatsapp. Gotcha.

The CM Security is more popular for being an antivirus engine but it can also lock apps you don’t want other people checking out on your device. With the App Lock function, you can lock apps, photos, files, privacy, and settings. The Locate Family feature lets you know where friends and family are located. The app also turns into a “find my phone” tool whenever it’s stolen so you can say it’s an anti-theft feature. Locate the phone on a map easily and track the thief.

  1. This should be called “grandma selfie”. My mother-in-law installed this any can’t consistently remember her password. She ends up with lots of pictures of herself looking puzzled.

  2. I’m not able to get the intruder selfie option. I have an s4 mini and the only reason I downloaded the app was for that? Is there any way to fix this?

  3. Is there any way to store the intruder selfie in internal storage? I consumed my data and I couldn’t send to my email the intruder selfie, but there MUST be some place where it should be stored.

  4. If the person is suspicious that you have this app on your phone they can hold their device in such a way you can’t see their face. That’s what happened to me. Too bad it doesn’t show the phone number of the device being used to snoop.

  5. I installed this app, but my phone doesn’t work well with it. Now I have LEO Privacy Guard. If CM Security will be “light app” I’ll use it.

    • I was able to delete mine just like I would delete a regular photo. If you open your android photo app “Gallery”, you should be able to find the photo under recent or downloaded. Click on the photo. Once it’s pulled up you should be able to single click it. You should see icons on the top and bottom. On the top-right you should see the delete trash can icon in the middle of three. You can also change the settings in the CM Security app to take intruder selfie after one, two, three or five wrong attempts. You can also disable it. If you need help figuring out how to do that let me know.

      • I am looking for technical support for the app “Intruder Selfie” as the developer has not responded to my enquiries.
Can any tech people please help me with the following, please:
Can the date & time stamp on the photographs that the app takes be altered by the user or anyone else (i.e. tampered with)?
2 of the app photos were found in the trash folder of my phone’s gallery. However, I did not delete them and no other Intruder selfie photos were in the Trash folder even though the app had taken many around the same time period. How would this be possible?
Restoring these 2 photos appears to have resulted in the date changing but not to the date of restoration. How would this be possible?
The 2 photos are unclear and I need to enhance them to identify the surroundings. No photo editor app has been of any use. Is there one that could be effective?
This has given rise to a problematic situation which I am unable to solve without technical expertise. I would appreciate technical assistance, please.

  6. downloaded the app on my tablet last night when i completed the password setting and tried to access my apps and entered the password witch i do know it did not work i then removed the app form my tablet by uninstalling somehow but today 4/8/2016 when i made an attempt to use my tablet the password lock was still there and the password still doesn’t work so i went looking for the app but theirs no sign of it so i presume its gone so why is this happening to me ? i have no way of contacting people now thanks to this not happy at all about it.
