Lenovo unveiled the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ yesterday, and it seems they also had a trio of smartphones to show off. These models are all in the S-Series of devices, and for the purpose of this hands-on post — we are taking a look at the Lenovo S850. An overall solid looking device, and this happens to be one aimed towards the “fashion savvy consumers.”

Lenovo touts this handset as having a thin (8.3mm) and lightweight body, however one of the more noticeable items is the Lenovo logo on the back. Simply put, the logo glows, and it can also be customized in terms of color for status. The handset also sports an all-glass exterior, which gives the S850 a really high-end appearance. On the front you can expect to find a 5-inch IPS display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720.

The S850 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz and has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. Remaining specs include a 5MP camera on the front, a 13MP camera on the back, and network coverage to include the following; HSPA+ 21Mbps (DL), 5.76Mbps (UL), EDGE, and GPRS. This one will arrive running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

We did a bit of playing during our hands-on time and the phone felt rather responsive. The touchscreen was good, and there doesn’t appear to be any sluggishness. Overall, this left us wanting to spend a bit more time checking this one out. Maybe say, for a bit of a more long term review.

As for the device itself, aside from the solid overall feeling, the glass felt good in hand. Taking a tour of the handset and you’ll find a headphone jack and microUSB on the top, with the bottom being clear (aside from a microphone). The left side of the device is where you will find the speaker and the SIM card slot. Over on the right side is the power button and volume rocker.

The back has the camera sitting in the upper left, and there is also the previously mentioned glowing logo. The front is then what you would expect — aside from the actual display, there is the earpiece and front-facing camera up top with three capacitive buttons along the bottom.

That all having been said, in addition to the images throughout the post, make sure to check the full gallery sitting below. We also have another post covering the S860 and S660 models. Plus, there will be plenty more MWC coming from Android Community throughout the week.
