Along with the upcoming UK release, Motorola will also have the Moto X available for those in France and Germany. The availability will begin on February 1st, the same day as we saw announced for the UK market. But unlike the availability date, the price for those in France and Germany will be a bit different. The Moto X will be €429, which for those looking for the comparison, would be roughly $590 in terms of US dollars.
Or in other words, it seems a bit unfortunate that Motorola is launching the Moto X in Europe priced a bit higher than many would have thought. After all, the 16GB model is now down to $399.99 on a permanent basis. As a recap from earlier this morning, the Moto X will arrive in the UK with a price point of £380.
Aside from the difference in pricing, the Moto X will retain the same features in terms of hardware and software. Motorola will be launching the Moto X with Kit Kat, which means no waiting to upgrade from Jelly Bean. Otherwise, there is the 4.7-inch 720p display and Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 50GB of Google Drive storage.
The handset also has a 2200 mAh battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 10MP Clear Pixel (RGBC) camera on the backside. Of course, while some of the specs may not sound top notch compared to other devices on the market, a bigger picture of the Moto X is software related. Some of those include OK Google functionality even with the display being off, notifications without using the full display, launching the camera with a flick of the wrist and more.
Anyway, the availability for France and Germany will begin on February 1st, which is the same day for those in the UK. The handset will be available in black and white, and for now the Moto Maker customization option will be unavailable.
