Similar to the HTC One Max rumors, at some point it may get to a point where the Motorola DVX leaks head into overdrive. While it certainly appears to be heading in that general direction, this latest brings a bit of talk about the specs and potential pricing. The key here, these details are sitting firmly in the unconfirmed category at the moment.
With that warning out of the way, the latest is coming out of China and has the Motorola DVX appearing ready to take on the Moto X. Basically, this latest brings further talk about how the Motorola DVX will be similar to the Moto X in terms of looks and style, but come with a lower price tag and specs to match. According to this latest, the Motorola DVX will have a 4.5-inch display and be based on the X8 SoC.
For those not familiar with that processor. That would be the same Motorola X8 Compute System from the Moto X (as well as other handsets including the new DROID lineup with Verizon Wireless). This setup is a mix of two Motorola processors for sensor control and contextual awareness and a modified Snapdragon S4 Pro clocking in at 1.7GHz. Or in simpler terms, that also means the Motorola DVX should have the same “Ok, Google Now” functionality as found on the Moto X.
Touching back in the display, aside from the size, it was also said that it would not be Super AMOLED. And while that distinction was made, there wasn’t anything further provided to describe the display. Other details here point towards what we have been seeing in earlier leaks. Those details include a removable back battery cover that will be available in a variety of colors and dual-SIM support.
Lastly, the pricing. The Motorola DVX is said to be coming with a price point of roughly 1200 – 1500 yaun, which would have it sitting somewhere in the $200 to $250 price point. And again, that is expected to be an off-contract price. Motorola is expected to have the DVX available globally and we have seen details suggesting the handset would be available in the US by way of Republic Wireless.
