Coming by way of a leaked NTT DoCoMo sales flyer, we have the Samsung Galaxy J. The handset, which is shown as being available in three colors, appears to be a Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 hybrid. Details coming from the flyer point towards the handset as having a 5-inch display (like the Galaxy S 4) but with looks similar to the Galaxy Note 3.
The handset is said to have a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 2600 mAh battery and 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. Touching back in the display, that is reported to have a resolution of 1920 x 1080. There was also mention of a Japanese specific feature — a TV tuner.
As seen in the images here in the post, the Galaxy J will be available in blue, white and pink. Specifically, in Lapis Blue, Satin White and Coral Pink. There is no mention of the handset being Active branded, however there are some mixed reports in terms of whether or not the Galaxy J will be waterproof.
The rbmen blog mentions the “presence or absence of waterproofing is unknown,” while the folks at nowhereelse.fr have said the handset is waterproof and dustproof. Further details from NWE also mention 4G LTE network support.
Bottom line here, it looks like the Galaxy J is a cross between two currently popular Samsung handsets. And with that in mind, it could make a good option for those who like the looks of the Note 3, but not the size. Assuming they are not expecting an S Pen. All that being said, this leaked flyer is the “2013-2014 winter spring model” with mention of an announcement date of October 10.
Nothing beats Samsung period
