Recent Moto X rumors were suggesting that a budget edition was in the works. This topic came to light when a few colorful case backs were discovered. Talk was about how these were going to be used for a lower priced version of the Moto X, perhaps one aimed towards developing markets. At the time we noted some distinct differences between those case backs and the Moto X and thanks to an FCC filing — it looks like those backs could be for the Motorola DVX.
This handset recently appeared in an FCC filing — a filing that included some details about the phone. Most of those details were in regards to network support, but the filing also include some specific model numbers. Those numbers were the XT1032, XT1033, and XT1035. There isn’t much in the way of what we can look forward to seeing just those, however a Reddit user by the name of danrant did share some additional details.
It looks like the Motorola DVX/XT1032 has already been spotted with several retailers. Those listings all mention the handset being available in black and with 8GB and 16GB storage options. Pricing for the 8GB model was shown to be £137.29 with the 16GB model coming in at £150.74. Those prices both reflect VAT being included.
The other key aspect from those retail listings touched on the stock date. It looks like the Motorola DVX/XT1032 could be available fairly soon — as early as September 16, 2013. Sadly though, none of those retail listings had any images of the handset. On the topic of images though, the FCC filing did have a schematic, which can be seen below and does appear to line up with what we saw in those earlier colored case backs.
Otherwise, the network information coming from that FCC filing had the Motorola DVX showing support for WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as: GSM 850/900/1800/1900, EDGE Class 12, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100, HSDPA 21.1Mbps (Category 14), HSUPA 5.76Mbps.
