ASUS unveiled the MeMO Pad Smart 10 tablet earlier in the month and then later released a teaser video showing the features. As of today though, it looks like there is a bit of good news for those in the US market. Simply put, ASUS has confirmed that the MeMO Pad Smart 10 will begin shipping on March 5. Basically, those interested only have a few days left to wait before they can make a purchase.
Otherwise, as was previously announced, the MeMO Pad Smart 10 will be priced at $299. For that price you will be getting a 10.1-inch tablet that is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and with a display resolution of 1280 x 800. The tablet will have a quad-core 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, microUSB, microHDMI, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.
ASUS has also said that the MeMO Pad Smart 10 will have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0+EDR as well as a battery that should provide up to 8.5 hours of run time. The tablet will measure in at 263 x 180.8 x 9.9 mm, weigh in at 580 grams and be available in three colors — Crystal White, Midnight Blue and Fuchsia Pink.
In addition to the tablet, ASUS has also announced the Folio Key case for the MeMO Pad Smart 10 tablet. The Folio Key is a wrap-around protective cover with a Bluetooth keyboard. The catch here, ASUS has yet to give a price or say exactly when the Folio Key would be available for sale.

Why would you buy this over the TF300 with the KB dock option? I don’t see much difference in specs, but in fact it seems like a slight downgrade.
