The folks from LG have unleashed a full array of smartphones here at MWC 2013, and we’ve been able to get our hands on all of them. For those who don’t want a massive 5.5-inch HD phone (since that isn’t for everyone) LG has already announced three additional smartphones to hit all the other respective size points. Just like last year, we now have the LG Optimus L series, only this time it’s the L II. Below is the new L7 II, L5 II, and L3 II. Odd names, but check em out.
LG is aiming to deliver Android for any hand size with these smartphones. Ranging from 3.2-inches with the L3 II, to 4.3 with their L7 II. Our sister site SlashGear managed to grab plenty of photos of each little mid-range smartphone, so lets take a peek shall we. We’ll start with the L7 (pictured above) since it’s the biggest of the bunch, and has the best specs too.
The new LG Optimus L7 II tops the chart for the series with a 4.3-inch display, but sadly is just 480 x 800 although is still a bright IPS panel. We were hoping for at least qHD, but that didn’t happen. These are all budget phones folks. Under the hood is a 1 GHz processor and 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 2,460 mAh battery. These are all budget-aimed devices and certainly feel that way in your hand.
Next is the LG Optimus L5 II (pictured above) and also available in black or white. This little guy comes in at 4-inches and the same WVGA resolution. You’ll get a 1 GHz processor and 768 MB of RAM again, and a 5 megapixel rear camera. Sadly they’ve dropped the battery down to 1,700 here but it does have a dual-SIM variant for certain regions. It is enjoying Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Last and certainly least, is the L3 II little smartphone for those tiny hands or the children in your life. The L3 comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA display, so the images certainly are far from crisp. You’ll be crunched on screen while trying to view webpages, but it will easily do the usual games and such for kids. If you were hoping for a 3.2-inch powerful smartphone this isn’t it. Its got an aging 1.0 GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and only a 3 megapixel camera on board. However, this will certainly be extremely low priced if not free on contract.
In short, these are budget devices, they feel that way, and hopefully the price will reflect that too. For now LG hasn’t announced carriers, partners, or pricing but surely we’ll be learning more about all three of these phones soon so stay tuned.
