Qualcomm previously announced the Snapdragon 800 and 600 series processors and as of today, they have done the same for the Snapdragon 400 and 200 series processors. This follows the tiered structure announced by Qualcomm where the Snapdragon series would have the 800 and 600 series processors aimed at high-end devices and tablets and the 400 and 200 series processors aimed at the mid- and entry-level devices.
The 400 and 200 series processors will begin arriving in new devices throughout the year. In the meantime, lets run through what you can expect from each. On the Snapdragon 400 side you will find pairings with the dual-core Krait CPUs at up to 1.7GHz or quad-core ARM Cortex A7 CPUs at up to 1.4GHz. On the graphics side you can expect Adreno 305. Otherwise, both options will include support for CDMA and HSPA+ (42Mbps) as well as dual-SIM, cameras up to 13.5 megapixel and Miracast.
Moving over to the Snapdragon 200 and we have a bit less in terms of options. To begin with, these will be seen with the ARM Cortex A5 with speeds up to 1.4GHz and Adreno 203 graphics. Snapdragon 200 support also includes CDMA and UTMS along with GPS, multi-SIM and up to 8 megapixel cameras.
Otherwise, in terms of matching numbers, the Snapdragon 400 will be found with part numbers to include: 8226, 8626, 8230, 8630, 8930, 8030AB, 8230AB, 8630AB and 8930AB. Similar to the support, the Snapdragon 200 will also have less in terms of part numbers. In this case there are only two, the 8225Q and 8625Q.
