It’s only been about a week since the folks from Huawei announced their new flagship smartphone at CES, and it is already set to hit the shelves in parts of China. The companies new Ascend D2 5-inch 1080p smartphone will apparently be going up for sale from China Telecom tomorrow with a dual-SIM option, and can be yours for about $640. Pretty big price to pay.
Announced at CES, we were able to get a quick hands-on with the Ascend D2 and came away rather impressed. The smartphone will be available for select Chinese users tomorrow, but we’re expecting their WCDMA version to arrive outside of China soon as well, not to mention possibly making its way to the US.
According to Huawei’s recent announcements on Sina Weibo the smartphone will be available bright and early from China Telecom for just ¥3,990 and features the usual for China dual-SIM option. The phone is rather impressive with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 32GB of storage, a 5-inch 1920 x 1080p HD display and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This is a pretty impressive phone, but we’ll be waiting awhile before we can get our hands on it for a full review.
Stock probably won’t last long as high end phones in China usually go quite fast, not to mention this is a pretty solid offering from Huawei. We haven’t heard when their 6.1 Ascend Mate will hit China Telecom’s shelves but will update as soon as we hear additional details. Who’s buying the D2 tomorrow?
