If you’re impressed by the 5-inch 1080p smartphone coming from the folks at HTC and are on Verizon, then we have good news. Multiple leaks and reports have seemingly confirmed that the HTC J Butterfly 5-inch “phablet” will arrive on Verizon, and today the carrier has accidentally confirmed it themselves. Read on for more details about the upcoming HTC DROID DNA.
We’ve seen a few leaks suggesting it’ll be called the DROID Incredible X, or the HTC DLX — for Deluxe — but a new insert right into Verizon’s very own support page has cleared outed this smartphone as the HTC DROID DNA. I sort of like that name personally. Check it out in the image above, which also confirms the ADR6435 device code as we’ve seen before.
Now that Google has confirmed their LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 we can sadly forget about the rumors regarding an HTC Nexus 5 — as that appears to be a no go sadly. However, those on Verizon will be able to enjoy an impressive 5-inch 1080p HD smartphone from HTC with Qualcomm’s 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 2,500 mAh battery and apparently a 13 megapixel camera too.
The device will most likely launch as the DROID DNA, and we got our first potential look at the device complete with Verizon branding last week — even though some thought the images were fake. Most suggests are slating this impressive looking smartphone to arrive on Verizon in mid to late November so get ready to enjoy that beautiful display. Stay tuned for more details.

So no HTC Nexus 5 ever?
doubtful.. but maybe next year lol
hmm that sucks but i’m sure it would be way more expensive than the nexus 4 so it”s not a big let down.
If this had been a nexus phone it wouldn’t have a micro sd card slot, would have a smaller battery and wireless charging built in. I’m fairly happy the way it is so long as it gets plenty of development by the community. Just can’t handle the wait for it to come already.
nexus 4 will be great for a great price. i love my gnex but for 300 bucks for a new phone thats easily 3 times better is amazing. just because something is branded nexus doesnt mean it cant have a micro sd card slot or a big battery. wirless charging didnt come on my gnex why does that matter?
Google has stated time and time again, no nexus device will ever have expandable storage, so if the HTC Droid DNA was a Nexus DNA or w/e you want to call it, it most definitely would have had no expandable memory. As for the Gnex, it was last year’s model. I can only imagine the Nexus 4 having wireless charging was in large part, google’s idea/influence, and I was using satire to poke fun at how this phone would be different if it was a nexus. Plus I’m not sure why you are acting so defensive of the nexus 4 when i didn’t say anything bad about the phone. I was just saying that there are elements in the nexus 4 that make it an unusable device for me, and some of those elements are ones which google is requiring as of late.
wasnt being defensive at all. just stating why it will be a great phone. google has said the micro sd slot slows the phone down due to data being stored on separate drives but it doesnt mean they wont eventually do it considering the amount of people complaining about it. its not confirmed that it wont be a nexus but it could be at some point or a similar specd htc.
I think Google just says that to hide behind its real reason for not having expandable storage; to push customers toward cloud storage. My phone has a microSD slot and is STILL very fast….if I’m not mistaken, the Galaxy Nexus does support wireless charging. I know the HTC rezound does. But the required back cover doesn’t come with the phone, it has to be purchased separately.
You see it the same way I do. I was hoping that it wouldn’t be a Nexus for the same reasons you stated.
The nexus line is done this year. All the info we had was there would be multiple devices and we got that with the N10. So its the LG N4 for this years release. Plus Google has established the look of the phones as being only slight build changes from the last gen phone of the previous year.
Wonder if this phone will have a version with a simcard. I really like it but i need a simcard since i travel a lot. Hate the fact that in the u.s. phones are one-company only.
