Verizon Flex View for FiOS coming to Android

If you are a customer of Verizon that happens to be in a FiOS service area and use an Android smartphone a cool new app is coming for you. The new app is called Flex View and it allows FiOS users to view on demand programming wherever they might be.

Verizon says that the service is available to most FiOS subscribers right now and will be in all FiOS markets by the end of November. One of the coolest features about Flex View is that unlike streaming the content, you can download the stuff you want to watch so you can view in when there is no network connection.

Verizon says that FiOS customers can check for Flex View programming under the Video On Demand tab and then look in the Flex View folder. Flex View is supported by Android devices including the Droid 2 and Droid X among others. Flex View can be authorized on up to five devices at once, including computers and other smartphones. Some of the content has a rental fee associated with it and some can be purchased as well.

I love being able to watch movies, VOD and live TV on my Droid. I appreciate that DISH Network did this last year with the VIP 922 receiver and again with the Sling Adapter. I work for DISH and I was quick to take part of this when I found out that I could literally have a TV on my phone and watch it anywhere that I go.
