With January here its Tax time again for most of us. I like to put mine off until around October personally, but if you are the sort that actually gets a refund, you may be keen to get things going. TurboTax has announced a new app for Android devices called SnapTax that allows you to do your taxes directly from your Android smartphone.

The app only works with filers that need to use 1040-EZ forms so if you need other forms you are out of luck. The app is actually pretty cool. It allows you to take a picture of your W2 and the important details that you need to plug into the tax forms are automatically extracted from the photo and put into your forms.

Then you answer questions about what you do, and you can file your taxes and save them in PDF format. The app will also tell you how large your refund will be. If you live in a state where you have to file state taxes the app will do that as well. You can download the app and try it out free; if you want to file using the Android app, it costs $14.99.
