Alcatel OneTouch is announcing a brand new device to their lineup, the POP C9. The new handset from Alcatel brings a big, vibrant screen and five case colors. Alcatel is noting the POP C9 will have a simpler user interface, and plenty of preinstalled apps for all your social, gaming, and productivity needs.
The POP C9 has a pretty standard set of specs for a mid range device, which you can find below. If you’re looking for a strong daily driver that probably won’t break the bank, the POP C9 might be for you:
- 5.5” qHD IPS display, 540 x 960 pixels
- Quad-core 1.3 GHz
- 8 MP rear camera with flash
- 2 MP front facing camera
- HD video
- 2500 mAh battery
- Android 4.2
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB Memory
- MicroSD Card, supports up to 32GB
- Bluetooth 4.0
Alcatel is noting the 2500mAh battery will get users eight hours talk time on 2G, and four hours on 3G. The POP C9 also has a very Moto G-esque cover for the device, which you can see below. Color matched (or mixed!), it’s a slick way to protect your new investment.
Though Alcatel isn’t saying which brand the processor is, MediaTek s a likely choice. We can’t say we’re thrilled that this new device is running Android 4.2, but if it supports an overlay from Alcatel, it probably won’t matter too much. The POP C9 will operate on all the normal GSM bands, so another T-Mobile handset we think this will be. A nice mid-range offering from a company we’ve come to expect sturdy, well designed devices from.
