The developer of Tablified Market said it’s been two years since he last updated the app but we haven’t checked it out since year 2012 when it was first launched. The dev turned to Reddit and announced that he finally had the time to do significant updates to the app, hoping that it will provide tablet owners an easier and more convenient way to look for apps that are worthwhile and optimized for tablets.
Discovering dozens to hundreds of apps can be easy on the Play Store but it’s a challenge to identify which ones are best to run on tablets. Not all apps appear nicely on tablets because the interface usually change. Only a few apps are optimized for tablets and sadly, there is no way for us to figure out which are tablet apps. Thanks to the Tablified Market app for it shows those Android apps that are tablet-optimized. They are the ones designed especially for the mobile device—developed carefully with the tablet users in mind.
Developer Ayman07 finally took time to updating the app and relaunching it publicly. Med school got in the way but he’s still a developer at heart. He even added a new way to add tablets on-the-go. This way, he will be able to add more and update the database more frequently and regularly.
Tablified Market is actually a completely new app. It features a new custom API and has been rewritten from the ground up. Very noticeable now is a new Material Design UI and the notification system that lets you know if there are new apps added or updated. With this new version, developers can even submit own apps easily and quickly right from the Tablified Market app. It’t still a beta feature but you should be able to use it. If you’re a developer, make sure you add app icons for easier identification.
The app also now features a new sorting or filtering options. Feel free to filter or exclude tablet apps that have specific keywords so you won’t have to see them in the results. You can also view the apps that don’t offer in-app-purchases (IAP). This way, you will only download and access the apps that are free and won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
