Who loves updates and performance improvements? Today that is exactly what T-Mobile and HTC have lined up for the HTC Sensation 4G. Apparently the update started pushing out to users yesterday so we should be seeing this hit handsets today and over the course of the next few weeks. Sadly this is not Ice Cream Sandwich — you didn’t think it would come that fast did you? We do have some awesome improvements to detail below so stay tuned.

I’ll be patiently waiting for CM9 and ICS to land on my Sensation 4G but for all those running stock or would like the latest and greatest from HTC here’s what we know: they’ve improved stability, performance, battery life, security and a few other things. I wonder if the entire Carrier IQ disaster will still be included in this update, my guess is — probably.

According to the T-Mobile support page this is the list of new features and improvements with the udpate.

New Features

Software stability
Improved battery life

Improvements

Improvements to Trace dictionary
Screen unresponsiveness resolved
Device taking screen shots resolved
Lock screen shifted up resolved
Icon pixilation resolved
Improved Wi-Fi connection
Green lines on photo resolved

A few important ones other than performance improvements is icon pixilation. better WiFi connectivity, and users screens should be more responsive. I know I’ve had trouble taking screenshots in the past on my Sensation 4G so hopefully whatever is mentioned there will address that issue. We stay on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with this build and you’ll most likely lose root so proceed with caution. Thankfully we can just unlock the bootloader with HTCdev.com. All details on the update can be found at the via below direct from T-Mobile.
