SMobile Systems is the world leader in providing security solutions for all major mobile device platforms, including BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm, iPhone and now Android. Many of our readers have been worried about security on Android; this just may be the solution they have been looking for.

With mobile devices being able to complete many of the same tasks as computers, they are also susceptible to many of the same threats by attackers, requiring a lot of the same types of protection. SMobile has come up with complete solutions that address all threats that mobile devices face. Some of the solutions that SMobile provide include Antivirus, Firewall, Encryption, Anti-Spam, Secure Mobile Banking and Trading, VPN and Parental and Enterprise Controls. With recent word of the security flaw found in Android’s browser, how many of you feel this extra protection is necessary?

I really like that Android notifies you of which parts of the OS will be accessed by each program, although I guess it might be possible for a security flaw to bypass this.
But I won't go to an off-site to download software... I'd rather have it in the market... They should make it free through the market with updates and then when developers can start charging for the software in January... the free updates will stop... then people can pay for it with a 1 year subscription for updates after that... at least this way people can get word of mouth out on whether it is worth it... and also people can become more familiarized with their software... giving them and edge over their competition... which I'm sure will start sprouting up, like weeds in a flower bed in the midst of spring...
Some naysayers may claim that it's useless to have an antivirus on a platform based on Linux which has never had a virus. To them I say this: since I have installed an antivirus on my Linux systems, I've never had one! Not ONE virus!
My only gripe with my current solution (ClamAV) is that it's free, and therefore clearly inferior to what SMobile will be providing.
1) The software is not from the 'Market" so there was an error for that & I had to remove some security to allow the install.
2) The registration number is a combo of letters & numbers. However, the lower case 'L' looks just like a number '1'.
3) Upon successful install one of the modules is 'disabled'. To enable it I need to 'update my profile'. I can't find any 'profile' to update. Of course, customer support has bankers hours (Mon to Fri 9 to 5:30).
4) I've been at this on and off for over a week. Who knows if the the software is any good - it won't install.
I would NOT recommend this to anyone else to purchase. Wait a bit & someone will offer one through the market that installs quickly, accurately, & has good customer support.
