You’ve seen action movies that have impressive tech where characters just put their finger to their ear and start talking to someone on the other phone line. Well that is actually coming true soon enough with a watch strap called Sgnl, which is from a company called Innomdle Lab. Most of the people in this are actually from Samsung and the idea for it was developed and discussed during Samsung’s C-Lab, where employees create their projects and eventually set up their own company.

So what Sgnl basically does is send a Bluetooth signal to your smartphone. The smartphone then sends the sound to the strap and the strap sends the sound through your fingertip. So when you put said fingertip to your ear, you will supposedly hear from whoever is your calling you, with crisp, clear signal. The strap actually doesn’t have any speakers and indeed utilizes vibrations that are sent through your body, wrists and eventually fingerprints.

You can wear it with your existing smartwatch if it allows you to change your straps. You can also use it with a classic watch, again if the strap is interchangeable. But if you don’t ike wearing watches for some reason, you can still use it as just a strap or accessory. It can also track some of your activities and bring you important notifications from your connected smartwatch.

The Sgnl Kickstarter project has already reached its funding goal of $50,000 and is already currently at $128,913 with 37 days to go. So unless things go really wrong from their end, we’re practically going to see this in the market soon. You need to pledge $109 to get the Super Early Bird rate. Estimated date of shipping is by February of next year.
