Without offering any specifics, Samsung has begun dropping some hints about CES. Or maybe more accurately, Samsung has been doing some teasing over on the Samsung Tomorrow blog. It looks like we may be seeing a few “smart” related topics from Samsung during CES.

Before anyone dives in with the thought of a smartphone, it seems Samsung is heading towards smartwatch and smart home. The teasing begins with a reminder about what came out of IFA 2013, which took place in Berlin a few months earlier. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear and also showed the smart home concept. To that point, Samsung then mentioned how the “wearable device market is on the rise and the concept of ‘smart home’ has started to gain ground.”

There wasn’t a specific mention of the Galaxy Gear 2, however that seems to be where this is going. As far as the last bits of teasing go, Samsung ended things with a mention of how “maybe we can expect some innovative products that we had imagined to use in the future.” Time will tell what Samsung will be announcing at CES, but for now we know the show will be starting soon.

As far as the rumors go, we have been seeing some that are tablet related. There are a few models being discussed lately, including some in the Galaxy Tab lineup. Those seem to be pointing towards the Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Tab Lite. There was also mention of the Galaxy Note Pro, which seems to have taken most of the focus due to some recently leaked benchmarks. As for wearables, recent reports coming from Korea touched on the Galaxy Gear 2 and fitness oriented Galaxy Band.

CES 2014 officially kicks off on January 7th, however there are some events that take place ahead of that. Some opening, and smaller shows will kick things off on January 5th. And as we have mentioned in the past, the Android Community team will be on-site in Las Vegas to bring the latest news and hands-on coverage. Those looking to keep up with our coverage should keep an eye on the main site, as well as the CES 2014 hub.
