Samsung has offered an official price announcement for the Galaxy NX camera. Looking back the Galaxy NX was introduced in June along with the Galaxy S 4 Zoom and Galaxy S 4 Active smartphones. But more important for today is the pricing, which will begin at $1,599.99.
This is a body-only price and Samsung has said the Galaxy NX will be available in the US in time for the holiday shopping season. They have yet to offer up a specific availability date and so far have said the camera will be available beginning in October. As far as the lens that will be needed, the camera will work with any of the existing Samsung NX-series lenses.
Those looking for a package can also opt to pay $1,699.99 in which case they will get the Galaxy NX body along with an 18-55mm lens. Of course, aside from the lens specifics, the Galaxy NX will have a set of features that includes a 20.3 megapixel APS-C sensor, DRIMe IV image signal processor and an advanced hybrid auto-focus system. The Galaxy NX will have a 1/6000 sec shutter speed and will be able to shoot at 8.6 frames-per-second.
Those making the purchase can expect to find Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which does bring some additional Samsung related goodies. In this case that means items to include Photo Suggest, Story Album and more then 30 Smart Modes. These Smart Modes will allow users to pick the best settings for just about any situation. Photo Suggest will suggest popular spots based on location and Story Album will display moments in one timeline and set them up as a digital photo book for easy sharing.
Finally, this model will be WiFi only with other features to include a quad-core 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 4,360 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Not to mention the regular array of sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity, gyro and RGB light.
Will they also sell me some of that good crack they’re smoking?
