Earlier this year, owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo were given the good news that even though their device was on the lower end of the spectrum, they will still be given an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Well, half of the year is almost done and yet there is still no confirmation if this is still pushing through or when will it arrive. Well, a recent tweet from Samsung Netherlands reaffirms that it will indeed arrive, but as to when it will be updated is still the question mark.
If you’ve kind of forgotten what the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is, it is a cheaper and lower-end version of the Galaxy Note 3. It also comes with an S-Pen but it costs less than the highly-regarded phablet because the specs are lesser of course. It has a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 display and runs on a 1.3GHz Exynos 5260 dual-core processor. It has a 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 64GB) and when it comes to the camera, it has an 8MP main camera and a 2MP front-facing one. Pretty decent, but of course not as high when it comes to the specs as the original Galaxy Note 3.
In a two-part tweet as a response to a question posted on Twitter, Samsung Netherlands said that as far as they were last told, the Lollipop will indeed be coming to the Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Samsung France had also made a similar announcement months ago, but of course, we haven’t heard any confirmed date yet.
Samsung has been great in bringing the huge Android update to their midrange devices, not just the flagship or the newer ones. They recently gave updates to such budget gadgets like the Galaxy Core Prime and the Galaxy Tab 4, with more smartphones and tablets expected to also receive the Lollipop update.
