OPPO has finally and officially announced the Mirror 5. We’ve been anticipating for this one since it was sighted last month. We featured a crystal-backed Mirror 5s earlier this month but we’re assuming this Mirror 5 is a different unit. This OPPO Mirror 5 is expected to be available in the market very soon specifically in Mexico, South Asia, Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
This smartphone boasts a diamond-like mirrored surface plus the ColorOS 2.1 platform. This one is a thing of beauty because of the cut-glass design of the phone. OPPO describes this as full of “wisdom and innovation, shining above the ordinary”.
The design really is what makes this unique. The individual cut-glass segments feature reflective properties made possible by a special ultraviolet embossing technique. You can choose from either the blue or white color model.
Phone is also said to be sturdy and durable, thanks to the bi-metallic frame used. The cross beams add strength to the phone that is packed with a 5-inch display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad-Core processor, 16GB built-in storage, 2GB RAM, 3G or 4G connectivity, dual SIM support, microSD card slot for expansion, 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. It also features Pure Image 2.0+ engine for superior photos all the time.
The OPPO Mirror 5’s camera can do more than just take regular photos. It can capture six photos and then turn them into a 24 megapixel image. It features eleven built-in filters for image enhancements together with Double Exposure and Time-lapse functions.
According to OPPO, the Mirror 5s is the enhanced model. It’s the one we featured earlier. This model will be ready for release in Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan. The specs are almost the same except the Mirror 5S but will have 4G connectivity as a standard feature plus an ultra-wide 5-inch HD display. Sorry, no details on pricing and availability yet.
