Barnes & Noble’s NOOK Color Android-based ereader is shipping early, with pre-order customers getting their hands on the 7-inch device over the next few days. Meanwhile it’s also expected to show up – in limited numbers – in retail stores, including Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Walmart and Books-A-Million.

Order online today, meanwhile, and B&N reckon you’ll see your NOOK Color sometime in the week of November 26. Your $249 gets you a color touchscreen and a platform modders are already eager to get their hands on.

  1. I have the Pandigital version of the Nook but it is powered by Android. I have movies that I have transferred to micro sd cards but when I put them in the reader it wont recognize the videos. I assume I need them formatted to work with Android. How do I do this?
