Our sister site SlashGear is currently testing the myTouch 4G while they are preparing for the review. It's benchmarking suggests that its the fastest Android smartphone around. They decided to pit it up against another recently released Android smartphone called the HTC Desire HD. What's interesting, is the results from the test. Both have the same 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor paired with 768MB of RAM, but when tested, the MyTouch 4G came out decently far ahead.

After running quadrant on both phones, which tests overall performance of a smartphone and then assigns it a single score. They also tested not only the processor speed, but the I/O and 3D graphics abilities as well. The HTC Desire scored 1,666 which scored higher than most Android devices running OS 2.2 such as the Motorola Droid X and the Nexus one. The T-Mobile MyTouch 4G scored 1,846, almost 200 points more. This is very interesting in that they both have the same processor, but the MyTouch4G was tested significantly faster than the Desire HD. I am interested to see what the mod community will do with these two phones. Check out the rest of the store at SlashGear.
