Google Voice Number Porting Officially Launched, Available to All Current Users

Google Voice is sure a necessity for many people. Having one number that can ring all of your devices will guarantee you will never miss a call, and now Google is making the service even sweeter with existing number porting.

If you were not graced with the option last week, now you will be able to officially port your number to Google voice, for a $20 charge. You have to cancel your existing contract that features the number to get the number available for Google.

The service is currently only available for current Google Voice users, but support for new users is coming in the “next few weeks.”

Be extremely careful when port-in. Your cell provider may charge you early termination fees when porting to GV. my experience with the porting: http://blog.teltub.com/2011/01/home-phone-and-cell-phone-with-one.html
