This morning the folks from Google Play have teamed up with Boingo to provide more than 4,000 free WiFi hotspots all across the US. Google has dropped some coin and teamed up with the WiFi internet provider to offer access to Android smartphones, tablets, PC, and Macs but they managed to leave the iPhone off the list. More details below.

This is a paid sponsored free Wifi service thanks to the folks from Google. So next time you’re at an airport, hanging out in NYC, or at a hotel or mall you could be enjoying this free WiFi from good ol Goog. Apparently this promotion will only run until the end of September, so it isn’t here to stay although hopefully we see more of it in the future.

This promotion is being co-branded with Google’s ever expanding Play Store. So they’ll be expecting (or hoping) for an increase of sales to their store with music, movies, books, magazines and more. Google’s been on a roll as of late and doesn’t appear to be slowing down. According to sources iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad won’t be able to enjoy this service. Well played Google. Well Played!

The list of airports includes JFK airport in New York, Chicago O’Hare, and Seattle-Tacoma, as well as select Manhattan subway stations. There’s also support in various locations we mentioned above such as hotels and restaurants across the US. Check out the full list right here.
