Google’s lineup of Nexus devices are just a few hours away from finally being available to purchase right on the Google Play Store. Devices that will all come with the new and improved Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Earlier tonight we reported the final “shipping version” of 4.2 JB was rolling out to the Nexus 4 and 10, but now multiple reports are stating the GSM Galaxy Nexus is also enjoying the same treatment.
And this is why we buy Nexus devices folks. Except for those on Verizon of course. The image above is one lucky users HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play Store that has already received the over the air update to android 4.2 Jelly Bean this evening. With it bringing the new Photo Sphere camera and improved user interface, gesture keyboard typing, quick settings and more.
For full details on what to expect from the Android 4.2 JB update on your Galaxy Nexus, or when you receive your shiny new Nexus 4 or 10 later this week you’ll want to check out our what’s new with 4.2 post. You’ll also want to take a peek at our LG Nexus 4 Review, followed by our Samsung Nexus 10 Review for a better idea of what to expect with these awesome new devices straight from Google.
The new Nexi are available on the Google Play Store right this minute — in Australia — and will probably be appearing over the next few hours as available to purchase for those in the US. Be prepared to hit F5 a few times and snag one before they sell out. Earlier today Google confirmed the 4.2 update was rolling out for the Nexus and 10, but according to Android Police the Galaxy Nexus is getting it too. Next up is the Nexus 7, which will probably start seeing the OTA update within the next 24-48 hours. Who’s excited for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, gesture typing, photo sphere, and of course multiple user accounts? I am!

Hmm let me check my nexus…
My last days with the Verizon GNex………
I just upgraded from the D4 to the Galaxy Nexus
I just received the 4.2 update on my 16gb Nexus 7….just waiting on it to install…can wait to mess around with it!!!
FYI I had to Clear data and force stop the Google Services Framework…it worked on my second try.
That didn’t work here. Done it like 5 times
“and this is why we buy Nexus devices folks. Except for those on Verizon of course”… Anyone still wondering about why no CDMA version (for Verizon or Sprint) on the Nexus 4 … My 2010 Nexus S phone on Tmo got OTA update to JB before the Verizon Gnex did and it has had consistent updates for 2 years. I went from 2.3.X, 2.3.6, 4.0.X, 4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and soon 4.2.X … It’s the reason I buy the GSM Nexus …just saying…
Anyone else notice that this screenshot is from a Googler’s phone?
