We may have missed the ASU Cast One during the CES back in January but it’s only now that the product is available in China. This wearable comes with a projector and a touch panel so you can do more with it apart from being a digital watch or a fitness tracker. Now that it’s ready in the market, at least, in China, we’re reminded about the Samsung patent we sighted earlier this week of smartwatch with mini projector.
This Asu Cast is a bit different because there’s totally no screen but only a touch panel with a projector. The wearable device will use any surface or simply your hand to work as surface for the projector. The idea is very much the same but this smartwatch is now ready for public consumption.
The Asu Cast One smartwatch projector is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and features the following: 4GB flash storage, 1GB RAM, 1280 x 600 resolution of projected display up to 6-inches max, multi-touch, Bluetooth and WiFi plus the usual gyroscope and gravity sensor.
This smartwatch only runs Android 5.1. It supports different wearable platforms like Miracast, Airplay, and DLNA. Buy the Asu Cast One in China online for only 2980 RMB which is about $457 in the US today.
