Sony Mobile has recently offered up some updated details for Jelly Bean on 2012 Xperia devices. In short, according to details from Sony, the Jelly Bean roll-out will begin this week on select devices. The initial list includes two handsets with the promise of one more to come next month.

The lucky two include the Xperia T and Xperia V, which means users of either of those handsets will want to be on the lookout for an update notification to arrive. The handset scheduled for next month is the Xperia TX, though as of now that has been left as a general sounding “next month.” The update will be arriving as Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sony has said they have been working to blend the Sony Xperia software with Jelly Bean to create an “optimum user experience.”

Fancy talk aside, this means that aside from the Jelly Bean goodies, Xperia users will also see updated versions of the Sony Media apps to include WALKMAN, Album and Movies. The update also includes increased options for personalization, improved app organization and search and improved camera functionality.

Shifting over to the Jelly Bean specific items and we have Project Butter along with Google Now, Google Voice Search and the enhanced notifications. With that, Xperia T and Xperia V users will have the option to download the update over-the-air or using the PC Companion or Bridge for Mac apps. Bottom line though, keep an eye out for that notification.
