We have talked about the Altek Leo 3.5G Android phone with the whopping 14MP digital camera on a few occasions. The last time was back in June when the price and some details of the device surfaced. The phone has now gone official with a PR direct from the maker.
The phone will ship in Q1 2011 according to Altek and will be the world’s first Android 3.5G smartphone to have a HD capable 14MP camera. The company also states that it is seeking partners to bring it to market. The phone will run Android 2.1 and will feature WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3.5G HSPA/WCDMA networks.
The best feature is certainly that high-resolution camera that can shoot 720p video as well. The screen of the phone is a 3.2-inch WVGA unit and it has integrated GPS for navigation and has storage that can be expanded with up to 32GB microSD cards. The camera also has a 3x optical zoom lens. The only hard detail still missing from the official PR is the price, said to be $499.
