Back in June the popular laptop manufacturer Acer announced their new 5.7-inch Android phablet, the Acer Liquid S1 smartphone. Coming in with a massive 5.7-inch Note style display with a 720p resolution and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and now this week it’s officially available in Taiwan for just $430.
With a pretty well rounded device all coming in at a fair price the Acer S1 is a smartphone worth looking at. Offering a MediaTek MT6589T 1.5GHz quad-core processor accompanied by 1GB of RAM, with an 8 megapixel camera on the rear and 2 up front. Then we can’t forget Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on board, with some UI tweaks of course.
The Liquid S1 features stereo DTS surround sound speakers, and a decently sized 2,400 mAh battery is under the hood. Hopefully that will be enough to keep that 1280 x 720p HD display coming in at 5.7-inches juiced up all day. To round it out we have dual-SIM slots and even micro-SD for expanding that internal storage.
With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean the S1 offers some floating UI elements for true multi-tasking, and even voice unlock features as a few things to differentiate them from the competition. It’s currently up for sale starting this week in Taiwan for 12,900 TWD, roughly $430 USD, and will likely stay on that side of the pond.
The Acer Liquid S1 offers some interesting new things, and hopefully we’ll be able to give it a look soon. Who’s interested in this Galaxy Note-like device?

I have it, its a great device if you don´t mind a bad viewing angle.
For its price its just a great phone, if you don´t need a superspeed processor for gaming and you just want a big screen phone for a price that´s not too high, the Acer Liquid S1 is the phone for you!
