Living up to his nickname JerryRigEverything, one of our favorite YouTubers has put the new ZTE Axon 7 into a durability test. It’s his first time to scratch, burn, and bend a ZTE phone. He chose Axon 7 because it’s the most popular now from the Chinese company. The Axon phone boasts of its affordable price and dual front facing stereo speakers so it’s worthy of this kind of attention.

Zach Nelson (that’s his name) went on with the stress test as with previous tests he did on other smartphones. Normal phones usually scratch at level 6 and the ZTE Axon 7 is no different. He then scratched the glass cover of the front-facing 8MP camera but it didn’t scratch.

Body is full metal but some parts are plastic like the speaker grills. The rear camera is also scratch-resistant as it is made of glass. On the back, we see the dual LED flash scratched easily. There’s also the fingerprint scanner that’s scratched but still works okay. What’s interesting is the fact that most parts are made of metal. Even the button at the bottom and on the side are metal.

Zach did the standard fire test. The phone survived but some white patch became noticeable after 22 seconds. The usual bend test also happened. Phone still survived despite the screen being lifted. It’s the only thing that happened and good thing the Axon 7 also survived the bend test.
