The man that made his name reviewing video games through his online video series will now be on the other end of the spectrum. Zero Punctuation brought no holds barred yet hilarious commentary on current video games, so its creator, Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw knows what makes games click. So now he brings you Zero Punctuation: Hatfall, a game that seems so simple and yet is so frustratingly difficult at times, but always fun.
On paper, the gameplay is pretty simple. You stand on a yellow background and wait for hats to fall from the sky and try to catch them on your head. But the twist is that, it’s not always hats that are falling. Sometimes, it will be a refrigerator or a spear or an anvil. And of course, if that falls on your head, you will die, forcing you to start all over again. But if you’re lucky and you keep catching hats, then you’ll get more points, which you can spend at the hat store.
There are also other people who look like you trying to catch hats as well, so it adds to your confusion. Then there is a very impatient wizard just walking around, trying to just randomly zap things around him. But the more you get through the mini games, the better you’ll feel about yourself.
You can download Zero Punctuation: Hatfall from the Google Play Store for just $1.99. There are also some in-app purchases available, so better stay away from it, in case you’re a compulsive buyer when frustrated.
