We know, we know – you probably have no idea what a YO-KAI is supposed to be. Apparently, it’s a pretty popular TV show on the Disney XD channel. And we know you probably don’t watch that too, except if you have kids who do. But this TV show is getting its own mobile game, and it will probably launch by the end of this month, so it might be good to know what’s about to drop, yes?
As far as the TV show is concerned, Yo-Kai are invisible beings that run around causing mischief in your daily routine. That sudden need to run to use the bathroom, or your socks missing when you’re about to use them, or not being able to find your keys just as you’re going out of the house – these are all the fault of these Yo-Kai. The game will be called YO-KAI Watch Wibble Wobble, and it’s a puzzle game of sorts – you just connect one “Wib Wob” with another to form a bigger one, as fast as you can.
Of course, the storyline and characters are all based on the TV series, which you’ll probably get familiar with once the game launches. As players create bigger Wib Wobs, then they can use it to deal damage to enemies. The bigger the Wib Wob, the more damage it deals. So players will need to balance popping smaller Wib Wobs (which give constant but small damage) and trying to grow bigger Wib Wobs for bigger attacks when needed. Watch the trailer below.
The game will be launching by March 24, and probably initially available in the US, Canada, and Australia. Hopefully there will be a global launch soon. It might be a free to play game, with your usual IAPs.
