For those people whose smartphone is already on Android 7.0 Nougat and are using the Yahoo Mail! mobile app, we have good news for all three of you. Okay, we kid, there are probably more than 3 who will be in that segment. But anyway, yes, the good news is that the mail app can now be updated to compatibility with the newest Google major update that has just started rolling out. This brings with it some multi-tasking and “reply on the fly” features that you only can enjoy if you’re on Nougat already.
When you’re replying to an email, sometimes you would need to look at other apps to confirm or know something. instead of switching back and forth between apps, Nougat, and now of course Yahoo, lets you have a multi-window view, with the two apps side by side. This makes it easier for you to get your facts straight, especially if you’re sometimes too lazy to find the other app, like a browser, and switch back and forth.
You will also be able to reply and take action on incoming mail from your phone’s home screen, or more specifically, the notification section. You can type your reply right then and there without having to open the Yahoo Mail! app. You can also view and dismiss bundled notifications, and apply your custom swipe settings (archive, delete, star, etc).
You can update your Yahoo Mail! from its Google Play page as it has started rolling out already. But remember, you will only be able to enjoy these new features if your phone is already on Android 7.0 Nougat.
