Turn the black tiles to white. That sounds like a pretty simple and straightforward kind of game right? But as we’ve discovered a lot of times with these mobile games, nothing is ever as simple as that. XOR is another one of those minimalist but complicated and challenging puzzler games, and it is now available on Android smartphones and tablets.
The gameplay is simple in a sense that there are no other overwhelming elements or sounds or storylines to confuse you. But how to get to that goal and to solve that puzzle is a whole other ball game, or rather, tile game. Yes, you toggle the tiles from black to white when you land on them. Or white to black. Yes, you need to turn all the tiles white to be able to get to the next level. But, you need to be able to go back to the star-shaped starting position. And it gets more complicated if the tile is already white, because you need to turn it black first so that you can turn it white again. And if your start tile is already white, then you need to make it black so that you can turn it white again. Whew. We told you it was complicated.
XOR has 64 puzzles you need to solve. But you’re also under time pressure, and your moves are limited. So you need to keep an eye on those counters. But you will still be able to get to the next level even if you play at your own pace. But of course you’d want to beat both the time and the moves left right?
XOR is completely free to download from the Google Play Store. There are ads, but it’s a voluntary viewing kind of thing. They’re all in “The Tip Jar” section and if you’d like to help the game keep going, then you might want to view the ads in that section.
