We’re always on the lookout for the most secure messaging app. What with all the reports of hacking and security issues, people are clamoring for that one system that is safe, encrypted, and will allow fully protection and privacy. It seems impossible because anyone can get into something. Even the supposedly most secure network can be breached with minimal effort. WhatsApp is bringing a stronger encryption making the app even more secure compared to the messaging tools by Apple, Google, and Microsoft.
WhatsApp is serious in bringing the best messaging program in the market today. The company partnered with Open Whisper Systems to work on the app update. This particular good news is first seen on the Android app. This is surprising because usually, the iOS version gets the spotlight first. No word when this will come to iOS though.
This end-to-end encryption means only the two users can have access to the conversation. WhatsApp won’t decrypt the messages unlike what Facebook Chat and Gmail are doing today. The company will simply set up key exchange between users.
WhatsApp end-to-end encryption may not be the first in the world. There’s the Telegram, Silent Text, and Crptocat already but WhatsApp is the biggest platform to data to use the system. Open Whisper Systems’ past works on TextSecure, Redphone, and Signal apps are enough proof that WhatsApp will be more secure than ever.

I trust Open Whisper Systems but given Whatsapps proprietary software and the fact it is owned by Facebook, I’m wary of the promise of security.
I think that it must be the first feature to implement it IM software, especially in XMPP-based.
