When you have an important announcement to make but you have several groups on your WhatsApp account, it may get a bit tiring to copy and paste your message for your family group, officemates group, high school classmates group, online friends group, Pokémon catching group, etc. But now, the beta version is introducing a new feature wherein you can send or forward a message to multiple chats so it will be easier to tell everyone that you’re finally getting married. Or that you finally caught Pikachu after multiple tries.
The multi-select feature for sending or forwarding messages can seem like it should be there from the very beginning, but apparently very few messaging apps actually have it. But now at least we know it will eventually arrive in WhatsApp since it has been added to the latest beta of the app. Now when you’re forwarding a message or sharing a photo, video, or document, you can tap and hold it to select multiple recipients. This will include individual contacts or your various WhatsApp groups.
To make it easier for you if you have a lot of chats going on, your 3 most frequent chats will be at the top. So even if they’re not your most recent conversations, they will still be easier to find. The frequent chats feature was actually part of a previous update in the beta version, but now, it will be more useful with the multi-select feature.
You can download the update from the WhatsApp Playstore beta page or from the APK Mirror. Or if you don’t want to use the beta, you can wait until the official release, although there is of course no time frame for it yet.
