Facbeook-owned WhatsApp has just released several updates for the instant messaging app. The app regularly receives updates so we may have missed some versions already. The last one was only released first week of March which contained PDF sharing. Just the other day, it was rumored to be adding encrypted voice calls.
WhatsApp just rolled out another round of updates which includes text formatting. If you want to put emphasis on your messages, you can use italics or bold. It’s easy to format the text: add underscores (_) to italicize or asterisk (*) before and after a word or phrase.
When it comes to sending the documents, the new feature will now show a ‘Browse other docs’ option. Feel free to browse other files from your Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, local storage, or other sources. Another update is noticeable when you are within a conversation and when a schedule backup started. App will now show a pop-up but now with information on progress percentage.
The Profile section has been updated as well. You will no longer see the phone number in the front and center of the Settings screen. Such information can be found on the Profile settings screen.
