The last update of the Volvo On Call smart app integrated connectivity with Android Wear and the Apple Watch. Only a few weeks after that release, Volvo Cars rolled out another one that includes a complete new design, better Android Wear support, find parking feature, an enhanced interactive demo mode, and smart prediction cards being added on the home view.
The Volvo On Call app has been helping more than 230,000 active subscribers from all over the world in 21 markets. The past year alone, Volvo recorded about eight million times the remote heater starter being used by the subscribers. The app is even the new standard in Volvo vehicles in some countries like Canada, Brazil, and of course, the United States.
The app allows access to your Volvo car (at least 2012 model) anytime, anywhere so you can know important information like trip meter status, battery charge, or fuel level. You can control cabin climate of your car, as well as, start the engine remotely or turn on air conditioning, set timer, or start the heater if it’s really cold outside.
If you always forget where you parked your car, check its location on the app. The app will then blink and honk the Volvo so you can find it. And again, if you’re the type who forgets the doors and lock status, you can know via the app. From afar, you can also lock/unlock the door.
As with similar apps, the Volvo On Call provides roadside assistance whenever you need it especially during emergency. You are also free to categorize, edit, or export your driving journal so you’ll have an idea how you’ve improved with your driving. For those who are interested in more numbers, you’d be glad to know that the app records your battery and fuel consumption, speed, and routes of your trips. The Volvo On Call app also features smart predictions cards that are similar to Google Now cards.
