For those of you who didn’t know it yet, Vimeo is more than just that site that you watch videos that aren’t available on YouTube. It actually has a pretty good VOD service called Vimeo on Demand where you can rent or buy movies or TV series. The problem was that their mobile app left much to be desired in terms of easy access to your purchased or rented videos. The latest update to the app aims to solve that problem.
Previously, you could only access your paid purchases when you’ve actually added them to the Watch Later list. But now, you will be able to easily locate them on your mobile app by going to the Library section and tapping on Purchases. You’ll be able to now see all the videos that you rented or bought and you’ll be able to watch them from the app itself. You can even save it offline so that even if you don’t have connection, you will still be able to watch it.
Even if you haven’t purchased anything yet, the app itself now gives you more freedom to browse through their catalog. You can watch trailers first, bookmark the video page, and then decide if you want to buy them or not. Unfortunately, you still won’t be able to buy the videos directly from your app. You still have to go to their desktop app either through your mobile browser or when you’re on your desktop.
Hopefully, you’ll be able to do that last thing soon in another update. In the meantime, be satisfied with this current one and head on over to the Google Play page to update or to download if you haven’t already.
