Coming off the recent rumors, Verizon Wireless and LG have announced the upcoming availability of the Lucid 2 smartphone. As the rumor was calling for, the LG Lucid 2 will be available beginning on April 4. The one catch with that, the April 4 availability is by way of the Verizon Wireless website. The handset will not be available in the retail stores for a few weeks.
Verizon Wireless has yet to announce an in-store release date and instead have said that it will arrive in the “coming weeks.” The good part here, the Lucid 2 is going to be free. Well, free on a two-year agreement anyway. Additionally, Verizon Wireless will also have the wireless charging set-up available for purchase. This is priced at $39.99 and includes a replacement back cover as well as the LG WCP-300 Wireless Charging Pad.
Aside from the wireless charger support, the Lucid 2 will bring features to include 4G LTE connectivity, a 4.3-inch qHD IPS display, 8GB of internal storage space, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Other specs will include a 2460 mAh battery, dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait processor, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot.
Moving away from the hardware and LG also has some software features worth mentioning. Some of these include QuickMemo as well as camera related goodies including Live Shot, Time Catch Shot, Panorama Shot and Cheese Shutter. Finally, that rear-facing camera will also be able to capture 1080p HD video, which can then be edited using Video Wiz.
