Also backward-compatible with the 3G network is the Pantech UML290 4G USB, which is a 180 degree rotating USB connector and supports Windows XP 32-bit, Vista 32/64-bit (SP2) and Windows 7 32/64-bit. Each will be available online and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on Dec. 5 for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a 4G LTE Mobile Broadband Plan.

Overhyped & Overpriced. 12 megabits isn’t really that fast, or blazing. A data cap is also another problem. Good luck selling that “starbucks” priced data latte.
Who is their targeted market? Everyone living in these cities already have cable or DSL at faster speeds, cheaper and uncapped. This is too expensive. Who cares how fast it goes if you have a cap? How could you use this as your home internet and why?
For those just past the just past the edges of the cities Verizon is blanketing with LTE, just outside the reach of Cable or DSL. Verizon’s LTE is a more attractive alternative to paying 100 dollars or more a month for satellite Internet or sitting on Dial Up.
I do not know that I agree. Verizon’s 4g network is not going to be very operable in the foreseeable future, and even when it is it will not be much faster that 3G internet. Satellite internet is not that expensive. Sure you can get plans that are, but several satellite internet plans are well under $50 a month, which is actually probably quite a bit cheaper that what the 4G plans will be. I actually have an entire blog on this subject at mybluedish.com/blog and would love for you to check it out.
