No more rumors, teasers, or leaks. Motorola and Verizon have finally announced the two newest DROIDs: the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 and the Motorola DROID Maxx 2. These smartphones under the DROID brand offer durability, fast charging, and impressive battery. The new DROID Turbo boasts of a shatterproof display made possible by Moto ShatterShield while the new DROID Maxx offers faster performance and longer battery life.

Motorola DROID Turbo 2

The DROID Turbo 2 is a Verizon exclusive so that means you can’t buy it anywhere else other than from the Big Red. It features Moto ShatterShield–Motorola’s very own display technology that consists of five layers of material that can absorb shock from any kind of impact. The screen will never shatter according to Motorola. It boasts of a 48-hour battery life and TurboPower Charging 3 allowing you to get 13 hours of battery only within 15 minutes of charging. Phone is powered by 2.0 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 by Qualcomm. Device also features an ultra hi-res 5.4-in Quad HD display, microSD card for expansion up to 2TB, 21MP camera, 5MP front-facing camera, and choice of 64GB built-in storage.

DROID Turbo 2 will also be available for customization via the Moto Maker. Feel free to build your own Turbo 2 with the color and material of your choice.

Motorola DROID Maxx 2

The DROID Maxx 2 offers anything Maxx from megapixels to battery life–giving the consumer Maxx value. Battery can last up to 48 hours and can be charged quickly just like the Turbo 2. The screen is 5.5-inch full 1080p HD display for a crisp photo and video display. The 21MP front-facing camera features color-balancing flash and rapid focus. As for the storage, the expandable microSD card slot will give you up to 128GB which far from the 2TB max of the DROID Turbo 2 but still big.

Device won’t be available on Moto Maker but you can personalize it by choosing from the various protective flip shells and interchangeable back covers.

Verizon will start offering the DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 starting tomorrow, October 29, Friday, in stores and online. You can get the DROID Turbo 2 under a 2-year contract for $26/month. The $30 monthly plan will include the design refresh. Retails prices are $624 and $720.

On the other hand, the DRIOD Maxx 2 will be ready for purchase with $384 price tag or $16 per month for 24 months. If you’re from a different mobile carrier, you can switch to Verizon and get up to $300 when you trade in a phone for a DROID Turbo 2 as limited offer.
