There has been plenty of back and forth in terms of the HTC One coming to Verizon Wireless. Well, maybe not as much back and forth as rumors. Regardless though, HTC execs had been chatting on Yahoo! earlier today and naturally, the subject of the Verizon HTC One came up. The question was posed in two parts with the first being whether Verizon will be getting a version of the One.
The second part went on to ask if there was another model in development for Verizon. It almost seems like the second part was asked knowing the first part was going to result in a no. The interesting and somewhat frustrating part here, HTC Director of PR Tom Harlin didn’t say yes or no. Instead he mentioned another previously released phone.
Harlin started with the rumors here by saying that while there have been “tons of rumors” they have yet to make any official announcement about the HTC One coming to Verizon. If you take that for what it is, they simply haven’t made any announcement — he didn’t say yes it would or no it would not be released. Harlin then went on to mention the DROID DNA.
“The DROID DNA continues to be the HTC hero smartphone at Verizon. It launched in late 2012, it’s features still compete with products in 2013. When we announce our next product with Verizon, we’ll make a big deal about it so you’re all aware.”
Basically, a non-answer on the Verizon HTC One. The interesting part here is the fact the question continues to come up. If nothing else, that should show HTC that people really want to see the One on Verizon. So how about it, anyone here still have hope in terms of seeing the HTC One released with Verizon? Or have you moved on and began looking towards another recently released handset?

Yea, looking at AT&T for the One.. I’m tired of these MIND GAMES!!
Just left Verizon and ordered a HTC One through AT&T. Cant wait until next week to get it. One bonus AT&T has over T-Mobile is they have the black one where as T-Mobile just has the silver.
Yup, got the HTC One on T-Mobile…very very very little bloatware…Only reason I want to see this on Verizon is so my friends stuck on verizon can have one of the best smartphones in existence….certainly better than the 16GB(8GB) Galaxy S4…..
I won’t renew till they release the HTC One, plain and simple.
I did one better – jumped ship…
If their May 22 announcement is NOT about getting the HTC One, I’m taking myself off my family’s plan and taking my business to T-mobile.
Right. We’ll be live with the details too Spencer.
HTC Hero you say?
…I’ll show myself out.
im waiting until Verizon gets their Variant of the HTC One or even the One itself. Even if i have to wait until mid summer or possibly september, i dont care. i want an HTC phone with Sense 5 as well as a great camera. im not going to get the S4.
Hell, I just want Sense 5 on my DNA and I’ll be happy.
If you were lucky enough to unlock your device before the OTA update, it’s not too hard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184706
Verizon got what they wanted in December 2012 and exclusive device deal with Htc for that battery draining Dna. Htc shouldn’t have to make another handset in the first place. All Verizon cares about are exclusive deals always wanna be special when clearly they aren’t.
but they are special jack off.. The DNA has plenty of battery. look at your face, how could you know what the fuck your talking about
I have had the DNA since it launched last year and I don’t know what you’re talking about when you refer to battery life. Before you judge a product try using it hands on first. All you have done is read reviews & make your decision based on the size of the battery. if you knew anything about smart phones you would know that one of the keys to battery life is optimization and not battery size by itself. There are two key components.
If nothing happens on may 22nd with a htc one! Then hello tmobile!!
Man trust me. You don’t want to go to T Mobile if you’re on Verizon already. There are such big differences between the two carriers. Yes, verizon is more expensive but trust me when I say you get what you pay for. I would never switch carriers just because one of offers a phone that the other one doesn’t.Quality and dependability of a service is far superior over 1 phone. I have had AT&T, T Mobile & Verizon and I can promise you that the first two don’t compare to the last.
I don’t understand all the battery draining rumors about the DNA. I have had mine since Feb.. I constantly get around 12 hours of life out of a charge. Yes I surf the web, make calls, and listen to music. It’s a great phone to have. Never had a problem with it.
The DNA isn’t a bad phone.
The battery is ok, camera is great, speaker is loud. There’s just some Sense quickyness that bugs me.
Considering the s4 is being released on the 23rd there’s no way Verizon is announcing the One on the 22nd. The announcement will be a special red edition s4 or something else mundane.
I’m hoping it’s a DNA Sense 5 update. But not holding my breath.
