For people who don’t want to be burdened with contracts, prepaid is usually the way to. But the US consumer market has become so used to contracts that mobile providers rarely put quality phones for their prepaid service. Verizon has recently tried to improve its lineup of phones by adding the new LG Transpyre smartphone to its prepaid mix.
The LG Transpyre is a mid-tier phone through and through. With a quad-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB RAM, it’s not going to win any performance races – BUT, it will do the job. The Transpyre features a 4.5-inch 800×480 (WVGA) screen, with 8GB internal storage and a 5MP/1.3MP camera combo.
The win here for prepaid users is that LG has filled up the Transpyre with pretty robust features. First, it is capable of 4G LTE connectivity for faster mobile internet. The Transpyre also features the patented Knock Code security system and the Knock On (double tap to wake) feature. The storage is expandable to 32GB via microSD.
Verizon is making the LG Transpyre available without a contract for prepaid users at USD$100. This phone will fit users who don’t do power work processes with their mobile devices. For browsing, going online with social media, taking the odd picture or video here and there – the LG Traspyre will more than do the job for you.
