This is simply an upgraded version of the SHIELD Tablet and is now made faster for geeks for a more awesome portable gaming experience. It’s even more affordable now at only $199–better specs plus great price–certainly worth your hard-earned money.

The SHIELD tablet K1 is definitely aimed for the gamers. It’s not just an ordinary Android tablet because of the high-performance specs. It works with some exclusive games and with the SHIELD controller for a better gaming experience. Tablet delivers stunning graphics, of course, courtesy of the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and a 192-core NVIDIA Kepler GPU.

Specs of the NVIDIA SHIELD tablet K1 include an 8-inch 1080p Full HD display, dual front-facing speakers, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot, Blueooth, WiFi, Front, dual bass reflex port, 5MP main camera, 5MP front-facing shooter, and a 19.75 Watt hour Lithium ion battery. Some features could have been better but making this a high-performance gaming tablet is the processor that brings speed and awesome graphics that are even better compared to other high-priced tablets.

The SHIELD tablet K1 is really more of a gaming tablet but you can use if for other mobile purposes. But for ultimate geeks and gamers, this tablet is definitely one for the books. Some games are also optimized exlusively for the powerful tablet–Real Boxing 2, Need for Speed No Limits, Vainglory, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

The SHIELD tablet K1 is available with a $199.99 price tag. The SHIELD controller is optional at $59.99 while the SHIELD tablet K1 cover is only $39.99. 1. Not trying to be a dick or nothing but maybe you should research this stuff before you write about it, the devices are pretty much the same except for the lack of stylus charger also I think the speaker grill is a different material on this “new” tablet. I have the 2014 32gb with lte it’s still an awesome device
