Here’s another good news from Microsoft. The Health app has just been updated not only for Windows Phone but also for Android and iOS. The fitness-tracking app now lets you connect with friends who also use the Microsoft Health app. Having this feature lets you compare progress and compete with your friends as another fun way of getting fit–even if only remotely. You don’t have to be alone in your journey. You can work out and encourage other friends to live an active and healthy lifestyle with the app.
By competing with others, you may strive to do more, walk or run more distance, burn calories, ride a back, or even just climb up the stairs to your apartment. The app will also encourage you to set actionable wellness goals you know you can really achieve. It may be difficult at first but once your body is used to working out, it will be easy. With health apps such as this, you can now finally keep your New Year’s Resolution which we know you already forgot after the 2nd week of the year.
The Microsoft Health app illustrates your progress in colorful graphs and charts. They are easy to understand when you check on a mobile dashboard within the app. When running is your main activity, you can use the GPS, map run, or follow the Guided Workouts. If you’re not into this getting fit and healthy idea, you can at least try the exercises. Who knows, maybe some sets in the Workouts section are something you can do.
The Health app update also brings changes to the Microsoft Band 2. Twenty more tiles have been added so you can receive more important alerts according to your needs and preferences. There is no ‘dismiss all’ feature yet so you will have to make changes manually on the settings.
The app update now allows more notification items to be displayed on the small screen. You can choose to enable alert for any app including Facebook, SMS, or email.
