The 2017 version of Galaxy A5 is about to be unveiled. This is according to a major leak that includes a video of what appears to be a prototype. This hands-on video shows the new mid-range device that looks a lot like the Galaxy S7. Don’t expect much from this smartphone though because it’s only good enough if you can’t afford the premium Galaxy models. Aside from the Galaxy S8, expect this A5 to roll out during the first quarter of 2017.
Looking at the smartphone, there’s a fingerprint scanner at the front button, some rounded corners, a speaker on the right side, and a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy A5 may be compared to the Galaxy S7 in terms of build but the A5 doesn’t have a heart rate sensor nor a rear camera that’s obvious and protruding. You can say there’s an improvement in design but we can’t say the same about the specs.
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is said to feature the following: 5.2-inch screen, 1080p display resolution, Samsung Exynos 7880 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, and microSD card slot for storage expansion. We’re guessing this one will be out in four colors: Pink, Blue, Gold, and Black. No information on what Android version will be installed but we’re crossing our fingers it will be Android 7.0 Nougat already. We’ll see.
